Neither console has a built-in TikTok or Kick option. On Xbox, the paid Streamlabs Console service can add TikTok and Kick alongside a Twitch stream. Otherwise you need a capture card and a computer, or a phone pointed at your screen.
This guide covers who can go live on each platform and how to set it up. Checked on 27 October 2026.
TikTok LIVE
Who can go LIVE
TikTok’s LIVE safety guide sets two basic rules:
- You must be at least 18. TikTok’s creator blog adds “or the age of majority” where that is higher.
- You need a minimum number of followers. TikTok says the number varies by market and doesn’t publish one figure. Check in the app: if you have access, LIVE appears when you tap Create (+).
When you first start, you may not get every LIVE feature. TikTok says you gain the full set over time as long as you follow its safety rules.
To earn from LIVE (such as Gifts), TikTok has separate criteria, including age thresholds that vary by region. Viewers must be 18 or over to send or receive Gifts (19 to send in South Korea).
GTA and age settings
GTA is made for adults. TikTok’s Audience Controls let you limit your content to viewers aged 18 or over. Turn it on in your settings before streaming mature content.
Three ways to go LIVE
1. From the TikTok app on your phone
- Open TikTok and tap Create (+).
- Swipe to LIVE.
- Add a title and cover, and set comments, moderators and audience options.
- Tap Go LIVE.
This uses your phone’s camera. For GTA, that means filming your TV, which looks rough. It works for chatting with viewers, reacting to news or a trailer, or a quick behind-the-scenes look.
2. TikTok LIVE Studio on a computer
LIVE Studio is TikTok’s desktop app. TikTok says you need the required access to use it.
- Download LIVE Studio from TikTok and sign in.
- Add your sources: camera, microphone, screen capture, or your capture card.
- Add a LIVE title and settings.
- Check the preview and go LIVE.
With a capture card, your console’s picture comes in as a video source. See the PS5 or Xbox guide for wiring.
3. OBS with a TikTok stream key
If TikTok gives your account a server URL and stream key:
- In OBS, go to Settings > Stream and choose Custom.
- Paste the server URL and stream key from TikTok.
- Set up your scene and click Start Streaming.
If you don’t see a server URL and key in TikTok’s LIVE tools, use LIVE Studio instead.
Vertical layout
TikTok is watched on phones held upright. A full 16:9 GTA picture ends up small in a vertical frame. In OBS or LIVE Studio, try a 1080x1920 canvas with the game cropped to the centre and your camera above or below it.
After the stream
TikTok keeps a LIVE Replay for up to 30 days so you can review it.
You can appoint up to 30 community moderators per LIVE to help manage chat.
Kick
Who can stream
Kick’s terms say you must be at least 13, or the age of digital consent in your country if that is higher (its help centre gives 16 in Europe). Its terms say anyone under 18 may only use Kick with a parent or guardian supervising and agreeing to the terms.
Kick’s beginner checklist recommends you:
- Verify your email address.
- Turn on two-factor authentication.
- Add a profile picture, a short About section and your social links.
Step 1: find your stream key
- 1Open your platform dashboardFind the live or stream settings page.
- 2Copy the stream key
- 3Paste it in OBSSettings → Stream → pick the service → Stream Key.
- Sign in to Kick and open your creator dashboard.
- Click Channel.
- Click Stream URL and Key.
Keep this page open for the next step. If you reset your key, Kick doesn’t keep the old one, so update OBS straight away. Kick says never to share your stream key with anyone.
Step 2: add the key to OBS
- Open OBS and go to File > Settings > Stream.
- Set Service to Custom…
- Paste the Server URL from Kick.
- Paste the Stream Key from Kick.
- Click Apply.
Kick also works with XSplit, MELD and Streamlabs Desktop. Streamlabs has a built-in Kick connection under Settings > Stream.
Step 3: match Kick’s encoder requirements
Kick only accepts certain settings. If yours don’t match, your stream may not connect.
| Setting | Kick’s requirement |
|---|---|
| Encoder | x264 or H.264 only. H.265 (HEVC) isn’t supported |
| Rate control | CBR only. VBR isn’t supported |
| Bitrate | Up to 8,000 kbps |
| Resolution | Up to 1920x1080 |
| Frame rate | Up to 60 fps |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds |
| Audio | Stereo, up to 48 kHz |
Kick’s suggested x264 settings are the veryfast preset, main profile and zerolatency tune. If you stream from a Mac, Kick says to choose x264 so you can use CBR.
Keep your bitrate below your upload speed. Kick suggests a wired connection and a speed test before you start.
Step 4: set your category and labels
- Pick the correct game category. Kick says putting your stream in the wrong category breaks its Community Guidelines.
- Write a clear title.
- Add the 18+ content label if your stream needs it.
Streaming to Kick from a phone
Kick’s KICK - Go Live app works with any Kick account. You don’t need to be an Affiliate or Partner.
- Needs iOS 18.0 or later, or Android 8.0 or later.
- Streams your camera, both cameras at once (not on some Android phones), or your phone screen.
- You can read chat in the app but can’t reply from it.
As with TikTok, a phone is best for talking to camera, not for showing console gameplay.
If OBS won’t connect to Kick
- Check the stream key and server URL are pasted correctly, with no spaces.
- Check your encoder is H.264 with CBR, at 1080p or lower.
- Update OBS to the latest version.
- Check your firewall or antivirus isn’t blocking OBS.
Before you go live
- No leaked footage, ever. Rockstar removes it.
- No cheats or mod menus in GTA Online. Rockstar’s terms ban them.
- Read Rockstar’s video policy in our own words.
