Privacy policy
TotalGTA has no accounts, comments or sign-up forms. This page explains the little data that is collected when you visit, who handles it and how to opt out.
On this page
The short version
- We never ask for your name, email or any other personal details to use the site.
- Our host keeps standard technical logs so the site can be delivered and protected.
- We count visits with Google Analytics. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it runs without cookies unless you consent.
- Videos and posts from YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch and Kick only load when you scroll to them or press play.
- We don't sell or share personal data.
What we collect
When you visit. TotalGTA is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web host, its servers handle technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Hostinger's privacy policy.
When you email us. If you write to hello@totalgta.com, we keep your message and address only to reply and to fix what you reported, then delete them when they are no longer needed.
When you use the contact form. The contact form sends your name, email address, topic, the optional page link and your message to hello@totalgta.com as an email. We use them only to reply, and treat them like any other email to us. To stop the same visitor sending many messages in a row, the server briefly keeps a one way hash of your IP address for up to an hour; it is not linked to your message.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we know what to improve. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your rough location (country or city) and your device type. We don't use it to identify you, and Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs in a consent mode that sets no analytics cookies and only sends anonymous, cookieless measurements. Everywhere else it sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to tell visits apart.
Google handles this data as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out on any site with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Videos, posts and maps from other sites
We show other people's content only through each platform's own player, with credit. Those players come from the platforms themselves, so their own privacy policies apply when they load.
- YouTube: we show a still image first. The player only loads when you press play, and it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
- X, Instagram and TikTok: posts on creator profiles load the platform's embed script when you scroll close to them.
- Twitch and Kick: live players load only when you choose to load them.
- The Leonida map on our Leonida page is the State of Leonida fan map, loaded from its own site.
Fonts, images, background videos and site search are served from our own domain, with no third party involved.
Cookies and browser storage
TotalGTA itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies as described above. A few settings are saved only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us: your light or dark theme, your grid or list view, and your progress on the launch checklist. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Advertising and affiliate links
We don't show ads at the moment. If we add them, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Store links on the site are plain links. If we ever use affiliate links, we will say so here and next to the links.
Children
GTA games are rated for adults (ESRB Mature 17+, PEGI 18). TotalGTA is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. Email hello@totalgta.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top.
