How to contact Rockstar Support

Rockstar handles almost everything through its help site, support.rockstargames.com. Here is which official channel to use for each problem, and what to have ready.

We are a fan site, not Rockstar. We can't help with your account or orders; only Rockstar can. Rockstar's contact page doesn't list a phone number or a general support email, so be wary of anyone offering "Rockstar support" by phone or DM.

Before you contact support

  1. Check if it's a server problem. If GTA Online or Red Dead Online won't connect for everyone, it is usually an outage and support can't fix it any faster. See our server status page.
  2. Gather your details. The email on your Rockstar Games account, your platform (PS5, Xbox, PC and which launcher), the game, and for purchases the order number from your receipt email.
  3. Search the help site first. Go to support.rockstargames.com, pick your game and topic, and read the matching article. Many launcher and sign-in problems have a fix there.
  4. Then contact Rockstar through the help site, using the details of the Rockstar account you play on. Describe what happened, when, and on which platform, and add screenshots of any error message.
  5. Bought it on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam or Epic? Payment and refund questions for those go to that store's support, not Rockstar's.

How to report a player in GTA Online

Rockstar asks players to use the in-game report tools, and decides on reports under its community guidelines.

  1. Open the pause menu: Options on PlayStation, Menu on Xbox, Esc on PC.
  2. Go to Online, then Players, and pick the player.
  3. Choose Report, pick the reason (and where it happened if asked), and send it.

Reporting someone also mutes their voice chat for you in that session. To report a Job instead, go to Online, Jobs, Report Job. Profiles, Crews and Jobs on Rockstar's website have a Report option in their More menu. Rockstar's full guide: how to report.

Refunds: what Rockstar's policy says

For games and items bought from Rockstar directly (the Rockstar Store, the Rockstar Games Launcher or the in-game PC store):

  • Digital games: refundable within 14 days if you have played for 2 hours or less and no in-game money or items came with it.
  • Pre-orders: can be refunded any time before release day.
  • GTA$, Gold Bars and other in-game items: not refundable once they reach your account, unless faulty or never received.
  • Subscriptions such as GTA+: not refundable, and cancelling mid-month doesn't give money back; benefits last until the end of the period.
  • Merch: refunded if it never arrives; damaged items can be exchanged.
  • In the EU and UK you also have a 14-day right to withdraw, with some exceptions for digital content you have already started.

Your receipt shows whether Rockstar or Xsolla (Rockstar's reseller) was the seller; that decides whose refund rules apply. Ask for a refund through Rockstar Support. Full details: Rockstar's refund policy.

Keep your account safe

  • Turn on 2-Step Verification. Rockstar calls it the best way to protect your account.
  • Use a unique password and an email address you won't lose, not a school or work one.
  • Never share your password, and don't buy accounts or keys from third parties. Rockstar says it's unlikely to recover those accounts.
  • Real Rockstar emails come from rockstargames.com, newsletter.rockstargames.com,store.rockstargames.com or support.rockstargames.com. Check the sender before clicking anything.
  • If you see an email change, device or connected account you don't recognise, change your password and set up 2-Step Verification straight away.
