How we test top speed
- Long, flat straight
The same stretch of road for every car, driven in both directions to cancel out any slope.
- Stock and fully upgraded
Each car is tested as bought and again with every performance upgrade, and both numbers are shown.
- Speed from the game
If GTA 6 has a speedometer or stat screen we use it. If not, we time the car over a measured distance.
- Three runs, best kept
We keep the best of three clean runs. Boosts, ramps and slipstream from other cars are not counted.
Questions people ask
What is the fastest car in GTA 6?
Nobody knows yet. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026, and top speeds can only be measured in the game. We start testing on launch day.
Do the in game stat bars show top speed?
In GTA V the stat bars were only a rough guide, and real tested speeds were often different. Until we see how GTA 6 shows stats, we rank by measured speed only.
Do upgrades change top speed?
In GTA V, engine and transmission upgrades raised acceleration and top speed. Rockstar has not detailed GTA 6 tuning yet, so we will test both stock and upgraded.
Which cars are confirmed so far?
10 vehicles, all shown by Rockstar in trailers, screenshots or edition details. They are listed on this page and in the car database.
