GTA VI PC Release Date: When Is GTA VI Coming to PC?

GTA 6 has no PC release date. Not announced Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced a PC version at all. The game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. GamesBeat reported in October that Rockstar is aiming for January to March 2027 on PC, but that comes from unnamed sources and is unconfirmed. Analysis Our estimate is that GTA 6 reaches PC during 2027, with the date announced only after the console launch.

What is confirmed

Confirmed Consoles only at launch. Take-Two’s August 7, 2026 earnings release lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The same release lists a GTA Online update for PC, so PC is missing from GTA VI’s entry, not from the release.

Take-Two’s explanation. CEO Strauss Zelnick told Bloomberg that Rockstar launches on console first because that is its core audience, and that a PlayStation marketing deal is not the reason, as VGC, GameSpot and GamesRadar reported. In the same interview he said PC can be 45 to 50% of sales for a big game, and he has said PC keeps getting more important to the company, as GameSpot reported. None of this announces a PC version.

The reported date: early 2027

On October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, citing four industry sources who asked not to be named. It added that the PC version has to meet the same quality bar as the console version before it ships. Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment.

Rockstar’s last three big open world games all came to PC after their console launch. The gaps are as GamesRadar counts them:

A PC release in early 2027 would be the shortest gap Rockstar has managed, and GamesRadar said it would be a clear break from how GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were handled.

How much warning we will get

Rockstar announced Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC version on October 4, 2019, about a month before it came out, as Kotaku reported at the time. Analysis If GTA 6 follows that pattern, the PC date could be announced only weeks ahead. We will update this page the day Rockstar or Take-Two confirms anything.

What analysts, outlets and fans are saying

Kotaku expects Rockstar to say little about PC until after the console launch, so it doesn’t eat into console sales. It also points out that PC is usually where a game’s best version and its mod and creator scene end up.
PCWorld had guessed late 2027 or early 2028 a month before the report, based on GTA V’s gap, and called a first quarter 2027 release much sooner than anyone expected.
TechRadar told readers to take the GamesBeat report with a grain of salt. It also reported a popular fan theory: some players think Rockstar is moving PC forward to get ahead of PS5 emulators. That is fan speculation, not a reported reason, and we don’t cover emulators or cracked copies.
GamesBeat linked a faster PC release to roleplay and player-made content. That matters because Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM roleplay platform for GTA V, in 2023, as TechRadar reported.
The money side. Zelnick’s own figure of PC making up 45 to 50% of a big game’s sales is the main reason outlets expect a PC version eventually, even without a date.

Our view

Analysis We think GTA 6 comes to PC in 2027. Three things point that way: Take-Two’s own comments on how much PC sells, Rockstar’s investment in the PC roleplay scene through Cfx.re, and a specific report from four sources. The first quarter would be faster than any Rockstar port so far, so a slip later into 2027 would not surprise us. A wait as long as GTA V’s, into mid 2028, now looks less likely. Until Rockstar says something, treat every date, including ours, as a guess.

What PC players can do now

Not announced There is no Steam, Epic Games Store or Rockstar Games Launcher page. Red Dead Redemption 2 came first to the Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic, with Steam a month later, per Kotaku, but GTA 6’s PC plans have not been shared.

What PC specs will GTA 6 need?
