No. GTA 6 is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One at launch. It launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
What Rockstar and Take-Two have said
- Rockstar’s GTA VI site shows only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Take-Two’s August 7, 2026 earnings release lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching November 19, 2026.
- The Microsoft Store listing marks the game as available on Xbox Series X|S, not Xbox One.
This has not changed since the start. Take-Two’s press release for Trailer 1 in December 2023 also named only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What it means if you own a PS4 or Xbox One
- You need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S to play GTA 6. A PS4 or Xbox One copy does not exist, so check the platform before you buy.
- Check the console on boxed copies too. Our platforms and requirements guide covers what each version needs.
- GTA V and GTA Online still run on PS4 and Xbox One. Take-Two listed the July 14, 2026 GTA Online update for PS4 and Xbox One alongside the newer consoles. See where to play older GTA games.
Beware of “GTA 6 for PS4” offers
There is no official PS4 or Xbox One version. Any listing, download or “beta” for those consoles is fake. Buy only from the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Store or a trusted retailer, and see our pre-order guide.
What we don’t know yet
Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced any other platforms. We will only add one here once they do. For PC, see Is GTA 6 on PC?.
