This is a rumour roundup. Everything under “What has been reported” is unconfirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two. We only include reports from major outlets, and we say who reported what. We do not include leaked footage or details taken from leaks.
What is confirmed
- GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
- Rockstar describes GTA 6 as “a single player experience”.
- Rockstar has not announced a PC version, a PC release date or an online mode for GTA 6.
PC version: what has been reported
GamesBeat: PC in the first quarter of 2027 (unconfirmed)
On October 13, 2026, GamesBeat reported that Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, meaning January to March. GamesBeat said this came from four industry sources who did not want to be named. Rockstar did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment.
VGC, GameSpot, GamesRadar, TechRadar and Kotaku all covered the report. It is unconfirmed.
Why some outlets are cautious
- Rockstar’s track record. GTA V reached PC in April 2015, about 18 months after its 2013 console launch. Red Dead Redemption 2 also came to PC about a year after its console release. GamesRadar noted that a PC release within months would be a clear break from that pattern.
- TechRadar told readers to take the report with a grain of salt.
What Take-Two has said about PC
These are on-the-record comments, not rumours, but none of them confirm a PC version:
- Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told Bloomberg that Rockstar starts on console because that is where its “core consumer” is. He said a Sony marketing deal was not the reason. VGC reported the interview.
- Zelnick has also said PC is becoming “more and more important” to Take-Two, as reported by GameSpot.
Online and multiplayer: what has been reported
Twitch CEO: multiplayer expected in 2027 (unconfirmed)
In a Bloomberg interview published September 17, 2026, Twitch chief executive Dan Clancy said he expects GTA 6’s multiplayer to launch next year, meaning 2027. He said Twitch had spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about its plans. VGC and GameSpot covered the comments.
Clancy does not work for Rockstar or Take-Two, and GameSpot noted it is not clear whether he was confirming a plan or making an educated guess. It is unconfirmed.
Bloomberg: online mode expected in 2027 (unconfirmed)
Bloomberg’s October 2026 feature on the making of GTA 6 says the game’s online mode is expected in 2027 and that Rockstar has not yet discussed it publicly. Rockstar has not confirmed any timing. It is unconfirmed.
What is official about online
- Rockstar’s pre-order announcement calls GTA 6 a single-player experience and mentions GTA Online only in connection with GTA+.
- Take-Two has said it will keep supporting the current GTA Online after GTA 6 launches.
- Rockstar has not given a name, release date or platform list for any GTA 6 online mode.
Our view
None of these reports change what you can buy or play on November 19. If you only play on PC, there is no official PC version or date to plan around yet. We will update this page when Rockstar or Take-Two confirms anything, or if any of these reports are denied.
