Catalina

Catalina is Cesar Vialpando’s cousin and one of the first people CJ works with after he is forced out of Los Santos. PC Gamer sums her up as a crazed bank robber, and her missions make up much of the countryside chapter.
Who she is
At the end of the C.R.A.S.H. mission “Badlands”, Cesar calls CJ to say he is sending his cousin out as backup. CJ meets her in “First Date”, and IGN’s guide puts it plainly: she is quite crazy. She has already picked four soft targets around the countryside and wants CJ’s help robbing all of them. Her moods swing between affection and anger, and several of her “missions” are just cutscenes about the pair’s stormy romance.
Role in the story
The robberies are the core of her storyline. “Tanker Commander” starts as a gas station hold up and turns into stealing a fuel tanker. “Against All Odds” is a raid on a betting shop with satchel charges. In “Local Liquor Store” another crew has beaten them to the job, so CJ chases them on a quad while Catalina shoots from the back. “Small Town Bank” in Palomino Creek is the last and biggest score, ending in a police chase on motorbikes. Her hideout is in Fern Ridge.

The game’s manual credits Cynthia Farrell as Catalina. IGN’s cast list spells the surname Farell.

In “Farewell, My Love” Catalina challenges CJ to one last race after he turns her down, and she isn’t alone. GamesRadar points out that her companion is Claude, the silent hero of GTA 3, who lets her do the talking and then heads for Liberty City. GamesRadar adds that the scene foreshadows her betrayal of him in GTA 3.
