Emmet is a Los Santos contact of the Grove Street crew, and his place is where CJ picks up his first pistol. He only has a short part in the story, but it is an important one, because his scene is where the game teaches you to shoot.
Role in the story
Emmet appears in “Nines and AKs”, the fourth mission Sweet gives CJ. After the opening cutscene, CJ drives Big Smoke over to Emmet’s place. There CJ gets a pistol and a quick shooting lesson.
The lesson works as a tutorial. IGN’s guide explains that you first lock on to a row of bottles, then learn to crouch for better aim, and finally aim by hand at a car’s fuel tank to blow it up. Once the practice is over, CJ drives Smoke home and Sweet calls to tell him to buy some new clothes, which opens the clothing stores.
Completing the mission also leaves a pistol spawning near Emmet’s place, so it is a handy spot to rearm early in the game.
Voice actor
The game’s manual credits Eugene Jeter Jr. as Emmet, and IGN’s cast list gives the same name.
