T-Bone Mendez is one of the Syndicate members CJ runs into in San Fierro. He works closely with Jizzy B, and CJ spends a stretch of the San Fierro story riding along with him, even as CJ works to bring the group down.
Who he is
CJ meets him in the mission named after him. Back at Jizzy’s club, CJ finds two of the Syndicate members talking when Jizzy gets a call: one of their vans has been ambushed. CJ heads out, and when the robbers flee on bikes he chases each of them down on a motorbike of his own, grabbing the stolen packages as he pulls alongside.
Role in the story
T-Bone is right next to CJ in the next mission, “Mike Toreno”. When Mike Toreno calls the club to say their operation is under attack, T-Bone relays Toreno’s directions as CJ drives across the city against a dying phone battery. At the airport T-Bone leans out of the car and opens fire on the van’s motorbike escort. He turns up again in “Outrider”, where CJ clears roadblocks ahead of a van after an exchange with T-Bone and Toreno.
Voice actor
The game’s manual credits Kid Frost as T-Bone Mendez, and IGN’s cast list and GamesRadar’s 2004 preview agree. GameSpot’s 2004 cast report describes Kid Frost as a Chicano rapper.
Spoiler
When the Syndicate gathers at Pier 69, CJ and Cesar are waiting on the rooftops. After CJ snipes the lookouts, T-Bone is the first target on the ground, and he falls in the shootout.
