In the Beginning… is the first thing you play in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. After the opening cutscene, Ken Rosenberg drives Tommy away from trouble and leaves him in a quieter part of town. From there the job is simple: reach the Ocean View Hotel in Ocean Beach.
Walkthrough
- Watch the intro. When Ken drops you off, you take control of Tommy for the first time.
- Take the nearest car. Any vehicle will do for this short drive.
- Follow the pink marker on the radar through the streets to the hotel.
- Park outside, get out and walk through the front door to finish the mission.
Tips
- IGN points out that the pink tape icon in the hotel lobby is your save point.
- The game offers eight save slots. IGN suggests one slot is fine early on, with a spare save kept before bigger missions later.
- IGN notes that the hotel works as a safehouse for now, and you can buy more properties later in the story.
Rewards and unlocks
There is no cash reward. Reaching the hotel leads straight into An Old Friend, the cutscene where Tommy reports back to Sonny Forelli.
Next: An Old Friend.
