Community rules
TotalGTA accounts are for GTA players aged 16 and over. Post your own GTA things, be decent to each other, and keep leaks and piracy out.
On this page
The short version
- Post your own GTA stuff: your collection, your builds, your own screenshots and clips.
- Videos are your own GTA clips, up to 60 seconds. A moderator checks every one before others see it.
- No leaks, no piracy, no selling money or accounts.
- No sexual content, hate, threats or harassment.
- Report what breaks the rules. A person reviews every report.
Keep it about GTA
Off topic: profiles, collections and posts are for the GTA games: what you drive, where you've been, how you play. Other games are fine in passing. Ads, links to sell things and anything posted only to promote another site will be removed.
The rules
Each rule has a name we use when we explain a decision. Never post:
- Illegal content: anything illegal where you live or in the EU and the UK.
- Child safety: anything that sexualises or endangers anyone under 18. We report it to the authorities.
- Sexual content: no nudity or sexual images, including from mods, and no real-world gore.
- Threats and violence: no threats or calls to violence against anyone. Violence inside the game is fine to talk about.
- Hate: nothing attacking people for who they are.
- Harassment and bullying: don't target, pile on or keep contacting a player who wants to be left alone.
- Suicide and self-harm: nothing that encourages or shows it. If you are struggling, please contact a local helpline.
- Spam and scams: no repeated posts, fake giveaways, money drops, boosting, modded accounts or account selling.
- Leaks: leaked footage, leaked files or details from them, from any game, and links to them.
- Other people's work: no pirated games, cracks or fake "PC downloads", no mods Rockstar could act against (anything that gets players banned or breaks GTA Online's rules), and no screenshots, art or videos made by someone else without their permission.
- Impersonation: don't pretend to be Rockstar, Take-Two, TotalGTA staff, a creator or another player.
- Other people's private details: no real names, addresses, phone numbers or photos of people without their permission.
Pictures, videos and YouTube links
Pictures: upload screenshots you took yourself, or pictures you made. Don't upload other people's screenshots or fan art without their permission, and don't upload pictures with someone else's watermark. We remove the hidden location data from every picture you upload. A new player's picture posts are checked by a moderator first.
Videos: upload GTA clips you recorded yourself, as MP4 or WebM, up to 60 seconds and 50 MB. Every video is checked by a moderator before anyone else sees it. Don't upload other people's videos or streams, Rockstar's trailers, or clips cut from them: post a YouTube link to the original instead. Videos are kept as you upload them, so anything your phone saved inside the file, such as where it was recorded, stays in it.
YouTube links: link GTA videos only, and only videos the channel allows to be embedded. The video plays in YouTube's own player with the channel's name, so YouTube's rules apply too. No links to leaks, pirated copies, cracks, fake downloads, mod menus or money drops.
How we treat each other
Disagree with an opinion, not a person. Roasting a terrible car build is fine; going after the player who made it isn't. If someone bothers you, block them and report it.
What happens when a rule is broken
- We remove what breaks the rules and email you which rule it was and how to appeal.
- If three different people report a post or comment, it is hidden until a moderator looks at it.
- Repeated or serious breaks lead to a suspension or a closed account.
- Leaks, piracy, sexual content involving anyone under 18, and threats close an account straight away and may be reported to the authorities.
- You can appeal from Account > Moderation within six months, or by replying to our email or writing to hello@totalgta.com. A person reviews every appeal.
Reporting
Use the report button on any profile, post or comment (you don't need an account), or email hello@totalgta.com with the link and what's wrong. Reports are private: the player you report isn't told who reported them. See also our terms on removals and appeals.
