Franklin and Lamar

Franklin and Lamar is the first mission for Franklin. He and Lamar pick up two cars and turn the delivery into a race across the city, which also teaches Franklin’s driving ability.

Walkthrough

1. Walk to the two cars behind the house and get into either one.
2. Lamar starts a race straight away. There are no checkpoints, so keep Lamar in sight and follow his line through traffic.
3. Use Franklin’s special ability to slow time on the sharper turns.
4. The route passes through a movie lot where stunt actors in alien costumes block the road. Weave around them, and expect a second group further on.
5. Near the end, Lamar leads you through three parking garages before the drop point.
6. Once you reach the lot, the police give chase. Hide under the freeway behind the Vanilla Unicorn strip club until your wanted level clears.
7. Drive to Simeon’s dealership, then take your car back to the safehouse to finish.

Gold medal tips

• For the race win, learn where the obstacles are. In the garage section, enter the first garage, drive around the second one instead of through it and go straight to the third entrance. Then use the ability to take the lead.
• For the special ability objective, trigger it several times during the race.
• For the aliens, switch on the ability as you enter the movie lot so you have time to steer between them.
• Keep the car clean throughout. Every bump counts against the damage objective.

Rewards and unlocks

The mission introduces Franklin’s driving ability and leads into his next job for Simeon.
