Mr. Philips

Mr. Philips is the first mission for Trevor, and it introduces his special rage ability. He goes after a biker gang, then pays a call on a man named Ortega.

Walkthrough

1. After the opening cutscene, IGN suggests a stop at Ammu-Nation for body armor and extra ammo.
2. Drive Trevor’s truck to the biker marker. A short cutscene leads into a chase.
3. Follow the black van to the gang’s hideout. Shoot or run down Terry and Clay on the way if you want that objective.
4. At the trailer park, take cover on the left and fight up the road from cover to cover. There is a health pack near a pickup truck further up.
5. Use Trevor’s rage ability if you get swamped. It lowers the damage he takes and doubles the damage he deals.
6. Bikers ride in on the radar. Wait in cover and pick them off as they pass. When enough are down, the rest flee.
7. Get back in the truck and drive to the next marker. Drag Ortega’s trailer into the river to trigger a cutscene.
8. Make your choice about Ortega, then drive home to finish.

Gold medal tips

• Drive by fire is the easiest way to take out Terry and Clay during the chase. IGN warns the aim is harder in first person.
• Trevor starts with only a shotgun, so the headshot count is easier with a rifle bought before the chase.
• Watch for the bikers who flee at the end of the shootout. All of them have to die for the fleeing bikers objective.
• IGN notes an optional stunt jump just left of a bridge on the chase route.

Rewards and unlocks

GamesRadar notes that after Mr. Philips, Ron texts Trevor about local stock car racing. Those races lead to unique stock cars and, eventually, the Cheval Marshall monster truck.

Next: Nervous Ron.
