Back Country Radio is the country station among the six Rockstar previewed on the official GTA VI music page in October 2026. Rockstar says MW and Delta Dawne send renegade country out to the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and the rest of rural Leonida.

Hosts

Rockstar only gives the on air names MW and Delta Dawne. Rolling Stone and Billboard reported that the pair are Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen, and both outlets describe the format as classic and outlaw country. Del Rey told Rolling Stone that taking part felt special, recalling that relatives already knew the roads of Los Angeles from playing Grand Theft Auto.

Wallen also has a single on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, “Last Thing You Need”, which is listed on Rockstar’s music page. Rockstar has not said which station, if any, plays album tracks.

Mud Dog Mike

The station has a third voice. Rockstar calls Mud Dog Mike the station’s roving reporter, swamp weatherman and Delta’s not so secret lover, and says he checks in from the driver’s seat of his Grassrivers airboat. Rolling Stone, Billboard and Kotaku reported that he is played by Del Rey’s husband, Jeremy Dufrene. Rolling Stone adds that Dufrene captains an airboat in real life.

Confirmed tracks

  • David Allan Coe – Need a Little Time Off for Bad Behavior
  • Loretta Lynn – Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind)
  • Hank Williams, Jr. & Waylon Jennings – The Conversation

These are the three songs in Rockstar’s preview. The full playlist will be added after launch on November 19, 2026.

Rockstar says stations play in vehicles and on foot through Jason and Lucia’s earbuds. See every station in our GTA 6 radio stations roundup.
