What Rockstar has confirmed about playing as Jason and Lucia, GTA V habits worth keeping, a Leonida road trip plan and how to dodge fakes and spoilers.
Grassrivers is a wild wetland region in GTA 6, home to gators, deadlier predators and strange discoveries in the mangroves.
Key facts

Rockstar’s tagline for Grassrivers is Welcome to the Wetlands, and it calls the region the untamable jewel of Leonida’s crown. You never know what lies beneath the surface: the gators may be the most famous attraction, but Rockstar warns of far deadlier predators and weirder discoveries among the mangroves.
Rockstar’s Grassrivers stills are all water, mud and wildlife. Its own image descriptions list:
That last shot suggests the wetlands sit within sight of the city. Rolling Stone describes the area as a swamp of gator filled water crossed by fanboats.

The swamp has featured since the first trailer. Kotaku’s Zack Zwiezen noted someone piloting an airboat through what looks like the Everglades, and Kotaku’s Alyssa Mercante also pointed to the Everglades as the trailer pulled away from the city. Rockstar has not named a real place itself.
In the 2026 Extended Look gameplay video, Kotaku spotted a pod of manatees swimming through Leonida’s swamps, along with airboat rides. See our Extended Look breakdown for more.
Alligators and a wildcat appear in Rockstar’s images, and airboats show up in almost every shot. Our wildlife and side activities lists track what is confirmed.
