In Caida Libre, Michael brings down a plane with a special rifle, and Trevor chases it to the crash site. Kotaku picked it as one of the game’s standout missions.
Walkthrough
- Drive to the observatory. The van carrying the remote sniper rifle is parked by the grass.
- Get in the van to start the sniping section. Zoom in on the plane as it crosses the horizon and look for the red target marker.
- Hit the marker three times to bring down the engine. The game switches to Trevor.
- Ride the Sanchez down the mountain after the plane. Watch for jumps and traffic as you cross the desert.
- At the crash site, deal with the passenger and take the briefcase from the plane.
- Switch to Michael. Drive the van somewhere safe and destroy it with a sticky bomb or a jerry can.
- Drive to the marker to meet Trevor and finish.
Gold medal tips
- For three shots, do not chase the red marker. Hold the gun just ahead of its path and fire as it moves into your sights.
- On the bike, hold the throttle the whole way down and do not ease off at all. Missing a jump or falling off loses objectives.
- IGN suggests driving the van straight to the steel mill where the closing cutscene plays and destroying it there. It saves minutes.
