Scouting the Port
Trevor and Floyd work a shift at the Los Santos docks to photograph a ship and lift its manifest, setting up the Merryweather job.

Scouting the Port puts Trevor in a hard hat. He goes along with Floyd to a shift at the docks, and between jobs he gathers what the crew needs for the next heist.
Walkthrough
- Take Trevor’s truck to the docks and park near the dispatch office. Follow Floyd to meet his boss.
- The foreman gives you a container job. Use the handler machine to pick up each blue THRIFTEX container with the magnet and carry it across the yard.
- Climb the ladders to the top of the cargo crane. Lift containers from the back of the stack and lower them onto the waiting truck. Do this twice.
- Walk to the edge of the crane and use the phone camera. Photograph the front of the ship, a guard on deck and a wide shot of the stern, then send them to Ron.
- Climb down, get back in the truck with Floyd and drive to the marker on the south side of the docks.
- After Trevor grabs the briefcase, leave the docks in any vehicle and drive back to Floyd’s place.
Gold medal tips
- Lower the magnet and crane slowly. Knocking containers around is what costs the “no damage” objective.
- Stay calm on the docks until the photos are sent. Any trouble there fails the quiet work objective.
- Frame each photo exactly as the game asks, or it will not count.
Rewards and unlocks
The mission leads into planning for The Merryweather Heist, which has two approaches. IGN notes that one plan needs more setup work than the other, and that Trevor suggests Michael take lessons at Flight School for it. GamesRadar confirms Flight School unlocks while you prepare for this heist.
