Back to School introduces the driving school in San Fierro, close to the garage in Doherty. IGN lists it as optional for the story, but it has to be done before Cesar’s first car mission, Zeroing In.
Walkthrough
Pass all 12 tests with at least 70% each:
- 360: hold the brake and reverse together and steer left or right to spin a full circle.
- 180: drive past the cones, handbrake turn and stop inside the cone circle.
- Whip and Terminate: turn at the last cone without braking, then stop in the small enclosure.
- Pop and Control: a tire blows halfway. Ease off the gas and brake at the end.
- Burn and Lap: lap the course fast without clipping the center cones.
- Cone Coil: weave through the cones inside the green lines and back.
- The ‘90’: brake and turn right just before the car ahead.
- Wheelie Weave: hit the ramp with one side of the car and drive on two wheels into the red zone.
- Spin and Go: drive back towards the center cone, swing round with the brake, then accelerate and stop near the end cones.
- P.I.T. Maneuver: nudge the car ahead to spin it and finish close beside it.
- Alley Oop: clip the ramp with the edge of the car so it rolls in the air.
- City Slicking: reach a checkpoint across the city and get back in two minutes without stopping.
Tips
- GameSpot says hitting cones costs 10% or 20%, but the tests are short and easy to retry.
- In City Slicking, damage only lowers the score. The clock is the real limit, and stopping completely fails the test.
Rewards and unlocks
IGN’s driving school guide lists a reward car parked to the right of the entrance, by overall result: a Super GT for bronze, a Bullet for silver and a Hotknife for gold.
Next: Zeroing In.
