Doherty is a district of San Fierro and CJ’s home base for most of the San Fierro chapter. GamesRadar+ showed it in its 2004 preview, with CJ heading to the Doherty area to meet Cesar for a car theft job.
CJ’s garage
When CJ first arrives at his garage in Wear Flowers in Your Hair, it is not what he hoped for. IGN’s walkthrough has Kendl, Cesar and The Truth talk him into turning it into a working garage, and the mission is a tour of the city to collect the crew, including Jethro, Dwaine and Zero. GameSpot describes it as an easy escort job with no combat that gets the business running.
From then on the garage is the start point for the Syndicate missions, marked on the map with its own red icon. The plan in 555 We Tip also brings the district attorney’s car back here. GameSpot notes the garage has an outside save point.
What’s there
- Construction site: right by the garage. In Deconstruction CJ takes a bulldozer to the site after the workers harass Kendl, and IGN mentions a call traced to a building site in Doherty near the garage during the Syndicate strand.
- Wang Cars: the showroom across from the garage. IGN says buying it for $50,000 unlocks Cesar’s car theft missions, starting with Zeroing In.
- Transfender: a mod shop that opens here after Are You Going to San Fierro?, per IGN.
- Driving school: GamesRadar+ says CJ first sees Michelle Cannes at the driving school in Doherty, and GameSpot lists her inside the San Fierro driving school.
- Safehouse: IGN lists a Doherty safehouse among the San Fierro properties.
- Burglar van: IGN places a black Boxville in a narrow alley across from the fire station.
- Weapons and photos: IGN points to a pump action shotgun at the Solar Industries plant, visible from CJ’s auto shop, and lists two Doherty Snapshots.
