Big Smoke is the first official mission in San Andreas. CJ meets Big Smoke, then goes to the cemetery where he sees his brother Sweet and sister Kendl. On the way out, the Ballas open fire and the group has to get back to the hood.
Walkthrough
- Walk into the marker at CJ’s house to start the cutscenes.
- When you get control, get on the BMX marked with a blue arrow.
- Follow Sweet, who also has a blue arrow over his head. Stay beside or just behind him.
- Sweet breaks away to draw the Ballas off. Keep pedalling and follow Ryder instead.
- Ride with Ryder back to Grove Street to finish.
Tips
- Do not ride ahead of Sweet. If he turns suddenly you can lose him.
- You must stay on the bike. IGN notes the Ballas car cannot be hijacked.
- Bunny hopping makes you harder to hit. Keep away from the sides of the Ballas car to dodge most of the gunfire.
- Watch your health in the top right corner. The mission fails if CJ is wasted or the bike is wrecked.
- GameSpot warns against sprinting the whole way: CJ tires quickly on the bike, and you need to stay behind your guide.
Rewards and unlocks
The mission gives Respect. Afterwards you can enter CJ’s house to save, and the first missions from Sweet, Big Smoke and Ryder open up. GameSpot points out free submachine guns nearby: one on the roof of Sweet’s house and one under a bridge in the canal behind the houses.
