The Boatyard is a small marina business in Viceport, run by two laid back surfers, Dwayne and Jethro. IGN’s guide says owning it gives Tommy Vercetti a steady supply of fast boats.
Buying it
It goes on sale after the story mission Shakedown, the first mission after the Ricardo Diaz part of the story. Walk into the property marker to start the purchase scene. IGN lists the price as $10,000, the lowest of all the businesses, so it is worth buying early even though it earns less than most.
Checkpoint Charlie
The Boatyard has one asset mission. Get into one of the boats at the water to start Checkpoint Charlie, a timed race around the harbor where the checkpoints are packages Tommy needs for his business. IGN’s walkthrough:
- Collect 26 packages in two and a half minutes.
- The next package always shows on the radar.
- Don’t push full speed everywhere, as the boats handle poorly in tight turns.
Clearing it pays $5,000 and starts the Boatyard’s income of $2,000 a day.
Harder runs
You only need the first level to complete the asset, but you can get back in a boat to try the next level. IGN lists five more, each with a shorter time limit and a bigger prize, from $6,000 at level 2 up to $15,000 at level 6. Levels 4 and 5 add fog and storms.
