Meltdown

Meltdown starts as a night out and ends as a fight for Michael’s home. IGN suggests visiting Ammu-Nation first to stock up on ammo and body armor, because the second half is a long gunfight.

Walkthrough

1. Go to the Ponsonbys store near Rockford Hills and buy the tuxedo on the right side of the store to start.
2. Ride in the limousine with Jimmy to the Meltdown premiere and walk the red carpet.
3. After the cutscenes you have two minutes to get home. Take the red Vacca parked behind the limo.
4. Inside the front door, Amanda is held by a gunman. Use Michael’s special ability and take him out with a headshot.
5. Go upstairs to Tracey’s room and do the same with the second gunman. Be quick, or the mission fails.
6. Clear the rest of the intruders as you work back downstairs. They wear body armor, so keep firing until they stay down. There is a health pack in the kitchen.
7. Deal with the two vehicles that pull up outside, then go back upstairs to finish.

Gold medal tips

• Pedal to the Metal: IGN suggests holding the accelerator and brake together for about three seconds before letting go of the brake, which launches the Vacca faster.
• Headshot Rescue: trigger Michael’s ability before you aim at each hostage taker. Slow motion gives you time to line up the head.
• Michael’s ability also helps with the 12 headshots once the house fight starts.

Rewards and unlocks

No payout is listed. GamesRadar notes two things that open up after this mission: you can return to the cinema later to watch the Meltdown film in full, and the last clue of the murder mystery side quest can be found in Solomon Richards’ office once Meltdown is done. Next is The Big Score Setup.
