The Vapid Hotknife is a hot rod with 1930s styling, listed in the Muscle class. It is one of the edition bonus vehicles for Grand Theft Auto V.
How to get it in Story Mode
Rockstar announced in 2013 that the Special Edition of the game came with a single player garage stocked with the Hotknife and the Carbon RS sports bike. The Collector’s Edition included the Special Edition content too. So the Hotknife is not something you can win through play. You get it by owning one of those editions.
Moving to newer versions
Rockstar said in 2014 that players who bought the Special Edition or Collector’s Edition on PS3 or Xbox 360 would have those items unlocked automatically when they moved to the PS4, Xbox One or PC version. Check your garage if you owned one of those editions and later upgraded.
In the garage
Because it comes stocked in the single player garage, there is nothing to unlock and no price to pay once you have the right edition. You can take it to Los Santos Customs like any other car you own.
Related vehicles
The other single player garage bonus is the Nagasaki Carbon RS. Pre orders also came with the Atomic Blimp. If you like old style cars, the Truffade Z-Type is the most expensive classic in Story Mode.
