The Atomic Blimp is the airship you can see drifting over Los Santos, and with the right bonus you can fly it yourself. It is slow, but that is part of the appeal.
How to get it in Story Mode
Rockstar announced in 2013 that anyone who pre ordered any edition of Grand Theft Auto V before September 17 would get access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in game. So this is a bonus item, not something you unlock by playing.
IGN’s guide explains how it works once you have it: after the pre order code is entered, a new option appears in your phone contacts to have the blimp delivered. It is then dropped off somewhere close to you so you can climb aboard.
What to do with it
PC Gamer recommends taking the blimp up at night to enjoy the city lights from above. It is not built for speed or combat, so treat it as a sightseeing trip. PC Gamer also jokes that if a calm flight isn’t enough, you can always shoot it down with a jet, at the cost of a wanted level.
Related vehicles
The Special Edition of the game added two more bonus vehicles to the single player garage: the Vapid Hotknife hot rod and the Nagasaki Carbon RS sports bike. For a much faster aircraft, see the Mammoth Hydra.
