The P-996 Lazer is a military fighter jet. IGN’s aircraft guide says it carries missiles that lock on to police and military vehicles plus a set of cannons. PC Gamer notes that the Lazer is the jet you can steal from Fort Zancudo in both single player and GTA Online.
Where to find it in Story Mode
IGN’s secret vehicles guide lists the Lazer as found only at Fort Zancudo, not on sale. Players have a few routes in, according to IGN:
- From the air. Fly a plane or helicopter over the south side of the base, jump, and parachute into the last hangar from the northwest. The jet is waiting inside.
- By road. Take a fast car, wait outside until a tank passes, then speed to the hangars and get into the jet.
- As Franklin. Use his driving ability as you break through the front gate, then drive up the runway to the jet. IGN says you can often reach it before the alarm goes off.
Getting away
IGN’s key tip: don’t climb into the air until you’re near the edge of the base, or the air defenses may shoot you down with missiles. PC Gamer’s guide to the base also warns of a four star wanted level once you get close.

The base’s other fighter is the Mammoth Hydra. The Rhino tank patrols inside the fence.
