The Dodo is a small seaplane that can take off from and land on water. GamesRadar calls it a nod to the Dodo from GTA III. Rockstar’s later update notes name it the Mammoth Dodo.
Rockstar announced it in 2014 as one of the rewards for players who moved to the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions from PS3 or Xbox 360. Rockstar Support says returning players needed to have finished the Prologue on PS3 or Xbox 360 while connected to the network.
How to unlock it in Story Mode
- As Trevor, complete the story mission Nervous Ron.
- Head to the sea cove east of the Ron Alternates Wind Farm. GamesRadar says you need to arrive by boat or another water vehicle to trigger the event. Jet skis are available on the beach a little further south.
- Shoot the gunmen guarding the plane from their boats, then get in. IGN counts six of them.
- Two more boats of gunmen attack as you leave, but you can simply fly away from them.
Where to find it afterwards
GamesRadar lists two spawn points once the event is done: the dock on the small lake in the Vinewood Hills, and the dock north of the Alamo Sea. You can also buy it from the Elitas Travel website for $500,000.
Spawn cheat
After the unlock, PC Gamer and GamesRadar list EXTINCT on PC, or 1-999-398-4628 on the phone. PC Gamer notes it can be spawned on land.
