The Mammoth Hydra is a military fighter jet. PC Gamer describes it as basically a Harrier, armed with both rockets and machine guns, and calls stealing one one of the coolest things you’ll do in the game.
Where to find it in Story Mode
PC Gamer says Fort Zancudo, the army base on the west coast of the map, is where the Hydra is kept. Getting it means breaking into the base. Its guide even suggests you can do it by driving in with a taxi if you’re bold enough.
The hard part is leaving. If you survive the soldiers and reach the cockpit, you still have to get airborne without being shot down by anti aircraft guns and tanks. PC Gamer’s guide to the base adds that getting close brings a four star wanted level and heat seeking missiles.
Keeping it
Once you escape with it, PC Gamer notes the Hydra is a great aircraft to keep in your hangar at the airport, so you don’t need to raid the base again.
Using it
PC Gamer also suggests a more playful use for it: shooting down the Atomic Blimp for a spectacular explosion, though that will earn you a wanted level.
