Amphibious Assault is the fourth mission from Woozie in San Fierro. CJ has to swim out to a ship in the bay and plant a listening bug on board. It can only be started between 20:00 and 06:00, and IGN says CJ needs a lung capacity of about 20%.
Walkthrough
- If CJ’s lung capacity is low, raise it first by diving under water and coming back up, over and over.
- Talk to Woozie, then drive to the red marker at the docks.
- CJ climbs over the fence into the water. Follow the red checkpoints and swim under the rocks to reach open water.
- Two patrol boats guard the bay. Swim under the surface, and when you come up for air, stay completely still until the breath bar refills.
- Near the ship, searchlights sweep the water. Dive under them, swim beneath the hull and climb onto the platform on the far side.
- Pick up the knife on deck. Deal with the guards quietly or with guns, then take the door at the end of the ship to the lower deck.
- Step into the red marker to plant the bug.
- Jump back into the water and swim to the yellow blip on shore without being spotted.
Tips
- GameSpot says the guards will not shoot when you surface, as long as CJ stays still until he dives again.
- Swimming just under the surface is enough to stay hidden. The searchlights only catch CJ on the surface and in their path.
- The more guards you take out quietly, the fewer come running. GameSpot suggests headshots with a silenced pistol if you have one.
- GameSpot’s tip for training lung capacity: dive, swim down a little, then let CJ float back up. He uses less breath while still.
