Sidetracked is a prep for the obvious approach to The Big Score. The crew needs a train car and a flatbed for the heist, and the plan is to stop a train at a quarry and fly both pieces away.
Walkthrough
- Drive to the marker at Davis Quarry and stop at a safe distance. Two workers are guarding the train tracks, one of them in a tower.
- Deal with both workers without being seen. IGN suggests a sniper rifle: the guard in the tower first, then the one by the tracks.
- Climb the tower and use the rail controls to divert the train.
- Once the train passes and stops, switch to Michael, who is flying the Skylift helicopter.
- Fly to the quarry, line up behind the stopped train car, fly low and attach the electromagnet as soon as it is available.
- Lift the car, fly to the airfield and lower it onto the waiting trailer.
- Go back for the flatbed car and drop it on the second trailer to finish.
Gold medal tips
- Undetected: sniping is faster than sneaking up on each worker, and it saves time for the 4:30 limit too.
- The helicopter section eats most of the clock. Line up carefully the first time rather than making repeated passes.
- IGN advises patience with the Skylift: make small corrections and use the tail rotor to turn instead of overcorrecting.
