After The Big Score, Franklin has to decide how the story ends. Kotaku and GamesRadar both describe three options. Something Sensible is the first of them, the one Kotaku calls Option A, where Franklin goes after Trevor. The other two are The Time’s Come and The Third Way. Each one ends the main story, so choose carefully.

Walkthrough

  1. Pick this option. Franklin phones Trevor to set up a meeting at an out of the way spot, then calls Michael to ask for help.
  2. Drive to the meeting point. IGN notes that you do not need to arm yourself first, as this is not a gunfight.
  3. Watch the cutscene, then get straight back in your car and chase Trevor.
  4. Do not try to disable his vehicle. Just keep up as he weaves through traffic. Franklin’s driving ability helps you slip past other cars.
  5. The chase ends at an oil field, where a cutscene takes over and leads into the end of the mission.

Rewards and unlocks

IGN does not list gold medal objectives or a payout for this ending. GamesRadar lists the achievement or trophy “To Live or Die in Los Santos” as unlocked when you complete the final mission, whichever one you pick.

Spoiler

The following reveals how this ending plays out.

Michael does turn up at the oil field and runs Trevor off the road. Franklin then finishes Trevor off, and afterwards he and Michael talk briefly before going their separate ways. GamesRadar and Kotaku both point out that a later GTA Online update, The Contract, treats a different ending as the one that happened in the wider story.
