Dave Norton is an agent of the FIB, Grand Theft Auto V’s version of the FBI. He and Michael De Santa go back a long way, and their shared secret is one of the key pieces of the story.
Who he is
TechRadar describes the relationship between Dave and Michael as one where each side gets something from the other. Dave’s career took off thanks to their past arrangement, which brought him recognition and money. TechRadar sums him up as another Los Santos character who got ahead by lying and cheating, just with a more respectable front.
Dave answers to Steve Haines, his superior at the FIB. IGN’s guide explains that Steve leans on Dave to get Michael and the others to clean up problems at the agency.
Role in the story
Dave is the go between for the government jobs that Michael, Franklin and Trevor are pushed into. You meet Dave and his colleagues outside the FIB building at the start of “Three’s Company”, and he takes part in missions such as “Monkey Business” and “The Wrap Up”, where Michael meets him at the Kortz Center.
Voice actor
We have not found a credit for Dave’s actor from Rockstar or a major outlet, so it is left out here.
Spoiler
TechRadar explains the secret: Michael betrayed his old friends to Dave for a shot at a better life, and Dave helped Michael fake his death. That is how Michael ended up retired in Los Santos under a new name.
