Vinewood is the entertainment district of Los Santos and the center of the city’s film industry. The Guardian calls it Rockstar’s homage to Hollywood, IGN’s guide says it is modeled on Hollywood, and GamesRadar+ describes it as the Hollywood aping part of the map.
What’s there
The Guardian describes a large, wealthy neighborhood with wide palm lined roads, cinema marquees and street performers. Stars set into the sidewalks of Vinewood Boulevard carry the names of actors and celebrities, and the Vinewood sign sits on the hills above the district.
Rockstar’s own 2013 travelogue for the game played up the same side of the area. It warned visitors that faded starlets and pushy costumed street performers could turn up anywhere on Vinewood Boulevard, and pointed them to the Vinewood Star Tours bus, where a struggling actor narrates a tour past the homes of the rich and famous.
North of the boulevard the streets climb into the Vinewood Hills, the area for mansions and views, with the Galileo Observatory further up.
Collectibles
GamesRadar+ lists several Monkey Mosaic collectibles in Downtown Vinewood and another under a freeway overpass in Vinewood, behind a homeless shelter. These mosaics only exist in the PS4, Xbox One and later versions of the game.
Story missions
In Friends Reunited, Trevor’s drive back from the desert makes a short stop above the Vinewood Hills before the mission ends at Vespucci Beach.
