Vinewood Hills
The Vinewood Hills are the mansion covered hills above Los Santos in GTA 5, based on the Hollywood Hills and home to the Galileo Observatory.

The Vinewood Hills rise north of Vinewood and act as the retreat of the rich and famous in Los Santos. The Guardian says the area is based on the Hollywood Hills.
What’s there
The Guardian describes narrow, tree lined roads that link huge gated mansions with sports cars parked in their driveways. Higher up you reach the Galileo Observatory, which looks out over the city, and the Vinewood sign stands on the slopes as well.
The hills are good walking country too. GamesRadar+ places one of the Letter Scraps at a rest stop with a Big O stand at the top of the large hill just north of the observatory, reached by a trail. Another scrap waits at the top of one letter of the Vinewood sign. A Monkey Mosaic, found only in the PS4, Xbox One and later versions, sits on a side wall on the observatory roof.
Story missions
Franklin ends up with a house in the Vinewood Hills during the story. At the end of Surveying the Score, IGN notes that you can switch to Michael and drop Franklin at that house to finish the mission. In Friends Reunited, Trevor makes a short stop just above the Vinewood Hills on his drive into the city.
