Ran Fa Li, also listed as Farlie, is an associate of Woozie in San Fierro. GameSpot’s guide sums up his part neatly: an associate of Woozie needs a favour, and Woozie hands the job to CJ. His story runs through two of Woozie’s missions, both tied to the war with the Da Nang Boys, the new gang moving into town.
Role in the story
“Ran Fa Li” is the second mission Woozie gives. CJ heads to the car park at the airport to collect a car, and as soon as he gets in, the Da Nang Boys spring an ambush and block the exits. You have to weave past their vans, then outrun the bikes and roadblocks that follow while keeping an eye on the car’s damage meter, before delivering it to a garage near the pier.
The next mission, “Lure”, turns Ran Fa Li into bait. CJ drives a truck out of the city and into the countryside so that the Da Nang Boys think they are on Ran Fa Li’s trail. Two bikers chase the truck through a series of checkpoints, and IGN’s guide warns that if they blow the back off it, they will see that Ran Fa Li isn’t inside. The run ends at a rest stop off the freeway.
Voice actor
The game’s manual credits Hunter Platin as Ran Fa Li. IGN’s cast list lists Hunter Platin as Farlie, and GamesRadar’s 2004 preview names the role as Ran Fa Li (Farlie).
