Mark “B Dup” Wayne is a Los Santos figure who only appears near the end of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, when CJ is back in Los Santos and finds his old neighbourhood in a bad way. He is the focus of a single mission, “Beat Down on B Dup”, given by Sweet.
Role in the story
Drugs are pouring into Grove Street, and CJ and Sweet decide to go after the source. GameSpot’s guide describes the mission as the first step in tracking down where the crack is coming from, and B Dup is the man they want to question.
When the brothers reach his old place, a user sitting outside tells them B Dup has moved to Glen Park, which is held by the Ballas. Getting to him means starting a gang war: you shoot a few Ballas to provoke them, then hold out through three waves of attackers, using the cars and the walkway in the park as cover. With Glen Park taken, CJ still has to deal with B Dup’s armed guards outside his house before walking in to confront him in a cutscene.
The mission is the twelfth Sweet gives CJ in IGN’s count, and it comes straight after “Riot”. It leads on to “Grove 4 Life”, where CJ keeps pushing the Grove Street Families back into rival turf.
Voice actor
The game’s manual credits the rapper The Game as Mark “B Dup” Wayne, and IGN’s cast list lists him as Game. GameSpot’s 2004 cast report mentioned that he plays one of CJ’s enemies.
