The Hotring Racer is a race car in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the last of the four bonus vehicles at Sunshine Autos. GamesRadar’s cheat list shows there are two versions of it.
How to get it
- Buy Sunshine Autos in Little Havana for $50,000 once Shakedown is done.
- Work through import lists 1 to 3. They give you a Deluxo, a Sabre Turbo and a Sandking.
- Clear list 4, Gang Cars and Oddballs: Voodoo, Cuban Hermes, Caddy, Baggage Handler, Mr. Whoopee and Pizza Boy.
- IGN says a Hotring Racer then spawns on the showroom’s top floor and the garage earns up to $9,000 a day. GameSpot’s guide lists the same reward.
Finishing list 4 also opens the six Sunshine Autos street races.
Good uses
GameSpot’s guide recommends a car with strong acceleration and speed for the getaway in No Escape? and names the Hotring Racer and the Stinger as examples.
The stadium
Hyman Memorial Stadium in Downtown runs a Hotring event on its rotation, open between 8 p.m. and midnight in game time, according to IGN. It is a 12 lap race where your car has a health bar, and only a first place counts toward 100% completion.
Spawn cheat
GamesRadar lists separate cheats for Hotring Racer 1 and Hotring Racer 2. The codes are on our Vice City cheats page.
Top speed
We don’t list a top speed because we haven’t found a measured or official figure from an allowed source.
