Downtown

Downtown is the northern end of the mainland, the west island of Vice City. It has towers like the VAJ Finance building and the VCN building, plus the city’s big sports venue, the Hyman Memorial Stadium.

Safehouses

IGN’s guide lists two:

• Hyman Condo, $14,000, next to the stadium. IGN calls it the best safehouse in the game, with a helicopter on the roof, room for several cars in its garages and a save point.
• Skumole Shack, $1,000, a simple rooftop save spot up a metal staircase near the biker bar. GameSpot spells it Skumhole Shack and says it overlooks The Greasy Chopper.

What’s here

• An Ammu-Nation with a long staircase out front. GameSpot sends you to the downtown Ammu-Nation rifle range to meet Phil Cassidy in the Malibu Club mission The Shootist.
• The Greasy Chopper, a biker bar. In Hog Tied, one of Mitch Baker’s biker missions, GameSpot has you jump a bike onto the roof of the downtown Ammu-Nation.
• A dirt track, where IGN says the Landstalker for the Sunshine Autos import list is found.
• The Moist Palms Hotel, Mars Cafe and a pizza restaurant.

GamesRadar+ counts 7 hidden packages Downtown, including spots under the sculpture inside the VAJ Finance building, behind the stadium, on a ledge below the VCN rooftop helipad and in an upper floor office you also visit in the InterGlobal Films mission G-Spotlight. IGN lists 6 rampages, from the Moist Palms Hotel to the VAJ building’s abstract statue, where a minigun makes it what IGN calls the easiest rampage in the game.

A bridge links Downtown to Prawn Island and its film studio. South of Downtown is Little Haiti.
