Chop
Chop is the Rottweiler that starts out as Lamar's dog and lives with Franklin in GTA 5. He helps in missions and can be trained with the iFruit app.

Chop is a Rottweiler and one of the most popular characters in Grand Theft Auto V. IGN’s guide notes that he starts out as Lamar Davis’s dog, and for most of the game he lives at Franklin Clinton’s second house in the hills.
In the story
Chop gets a story mission named after him. In “Chop”, Franklin and Lamar chase a target across Los Santos, and for a short time you see through Chop’s eyes as he sniffs out the man in hiding. IGN notes that this point of view is only used in that mission.
As a companion
When you play as Franklin, Chop can come along for the ride. IGN explains that he jumps into the passenger seat of Franklin’s vehicle, follows him around and attacks anyone who goes after Franklin. You can play fetch with him by throwing a ball, and IGN lists playing with Chop as one of the steps toward 100% completion. On walks he can sniff out hidden collectibles.
The iFruit app
Rockstar released a companion app called iFruit for GTA 5. Kotaku explains that it let you train Chop by playing fetch and other games, and a well trained Chop behaves better in the game and helps find hidden items. The same app also offered Los Santos Customs car customization and custom license plates.
Later appearances
Chop returns in the GTA Online update The Contract (2021), where GamesRadar notes that players team up with Franklin, Lamar and Chop.
