The RC Baron is a remote control plane in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. IGN files it under oddities and RC vehicles, next to the RC Bandit car and the RC Raider helicopter. You don’t drive it away like a normal vehicle: Tommy sits in a Top Fun van and flies it by remote.
Where to start
IGN says each RC race starts from a Top Fun van in a set spot. For the RC Baron, the van is on the roof of the parking garage next to North Point Mall in Vice Point. If the van isn’t there, IGN suggests taking a Top Fun van from wherever one has spawned and driving it to the spot; the race starts when you arrive.
The RC Baron race
Unlike the RC Bandit car race, this one has no laps. You fly the plane along a course of checkpoints against rival planes and must reach the end first. IGN finds it more straightforward than the other RC races because it has fewer sharp turns, and you can often pull ahead of the others early. A first place finish pays $100.
All three RC races need to be won at least once for 100% completion, according to IGN. The other two are a three lap RC Bandit race on the northeast beach in Vice Point and an RC Raider helicopter checkpoint run that starts near Escobar International.
