The Squalo is the racing speedboat of GTA San Andreas. IGN’s vehicle guide calls it the boat that defines racing on the water: it reaches high speeds, though choppy water can upset its tight handling. IGN is clear that the ripples are to blame, not the boat.
Where to find it
IGN lists two places on the water to look:
- Gant Bridge, San Fierro Bay. The water by Gant Bridge in San Fierro.
- West of Bayside, Tierra Robada. The water just west of Bayside in Tierra Robada.
Boat School reward
The surest way to get a Squalo is the Boat School, which IGN places in Bayside in the far northwest of the map. It has five tests, from stopping between buoys to a jump and a long course in a hovercraft. Unlike the other schools, the medals here mostly depend on your time. The reward boats are:
- Bronze (70 to 89 percent): Marquis
- Silver (90 to 99 percent): Squalo
- Gold (100 percent): Jetmax
IGN says the reward boats are always docked around the pier next to the school once earned.
Tips
IGN’s Boat School guide has advice for the jump test: head right towards the bridge, turn around while keeping the throttle down, then line up with the ramp using the yellow markers on the mini map. Anything over 65 metres earns gold. For the final course, it suggests focusing on avoiding damage, since damage is the main thing that drops you to silver.
