The Sea Sparrow is a helicopter in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and one of the three vehicle rewards for collecting hidden packages. GameSpot’s guide describes it as a Sparrow with two extras: it can set down on water, and it has a machine gun you fire with the circle button on PlayStation 2.
How to unlock it
- Find hidden packages around Vice City. There are 100 in all, and each one pays $100.
- Every 10 packages unlock a new reward. The first seven are weapons and armor that appear at your safehouses.
- At 80 packages, the Sea Sparrow appears. IGN lists it on the helipad of the mansion on Starfish Island, GamesRadar calls the spot the Vercetti Estate, and GameSpot says to collect it from the top of Diaz’s mansion. They all mean the same building: Ricardo Diaz’s home becomes Tommy’s after Rub Out.
The two rewards after it are the Rhino at 90 packages and the Hunter at 100.
Using it
GamesRadar’s hidden package guide places many packages on rooftops, ship decks and airport buildings that it says are reached by helicopter. With 80 found, the Sea Sparrow at your mansion is a ready way to fly out for the last 20. Unlike the plain Sparrow it can also set down on the water, and its gun gives you a way to fight back if you draw attention.
