Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, 2026, about five weeks before launch. The official page lists it at 1:29. Rockstar says it features the debut of “Flower in a Hurricane” by the game’s score composers Justice.
Here is what Rockstar confirmed and what outlets noticed.
The essentials
- Release date: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S
- Capture: TechRadar reported that the trailer was captured entirely in game on PlayStation 5. GamesRadar noted PlayStation branding at the start and end.
- Story summary: The video description repeats Rockstar’s official summary. In it, an easy score goes wrong and Jason and Lucia are caught in a conspiracy across Leonida.
Jason’s story
TechRadar said the trailer opens with Jason talking about his time in the Army. GamesRadar described this as a hint that he did not leave the military on good terms. TechRadar then saw Jason take a phone call from Lucia while she is in prison. The outlet suggested this means the prologue is told from his side, but that is its reading.
GamesRadar noticed that Jason has long hair for much of the trailer and short hair in later shots. That could point to scenes from different points in the story.
TechRadar also spotted Jason in tactical gear, wading through water with two men behind him. The outlet wondered if this is a flashback to his Army days.
Lucia’s ankle monitor
Both outlets spotted Lucia wearing an ankle monitor in one scene. TechRadar suggested this means she is still under supervision and that some footage comes from early in the story. At one point Lucia asks, “Are we gonna be OK.”
Big set pieces
GamesRadar called it a very helicopter heavy trailer:
- A helicopter crashes behind Jason as he holds an assault rifle
- Lucia rides in a helicopter through the city with a grenade launcher
- A helicopter swings a chained load through the city and smashes a row of windows
- Jason steps out of a helicopter, then he and Lucia jump from a roof into a hotel pool
TechRadar added a few more:
- Lucia climbing the wheels of a plane
- Jason sneaking onto a large ship
- Bank robberies
- Moments that look like quick time events
- The couple dancing in a club
- A helicopter hitting the side of a building
The song
“Flower in a Hurricane” is by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar’s music page calls Justice the game’s “original score composers” and lists the song as a standalone single.
GamesRadar and TechRadar reported that the track is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Rockstar says the album has 34 original tracks and comes out November 19. For the full picture of the game’s music, see our radio stations guide.
Fan response
GamesRadar reported that the trailer passed one million YouTube views in about half an hour and drew comments from fans who had waited years for a launch trailer.
