Rockstar’s tagline for Lucia: her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk.
Who she is
Life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary, and sheer luck got her out. Her official profile says she has learned her lesson and plans to make only smart moves from now on.
Lucia wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, and she is prepared to take matters into her own hands rather than wait for it. One of her lines on Rockstar’s site sums up her outlook: “The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got.” Rockstar says a life with Jason could be her way out.
In a Dazed interview covered by TechRadar, Rockstar described her as an amateur fighter.
In the trailers
- Trailer 1 (December 2023) opens on Lucia in a prison uniform. Asked why she is locked up, she answers “Bad luck, I guess,” as Kotaku and GamesRadar both reported. Later she tells her partner that the only way through is sticking together.
- Trailer 2 (May 2025) shows Jason picking her up as she leaves prison. Kotaku also singled out the final shot, where she comes home and collapses onto Jason on the couch.
- An Extended Look (August 2026) puts her behind the wheel of a getaway car after a bank job with Raul Bautista. Rob Nelson of Rockstar North told Famitsu, via GamesRadar, that this mission makes you switch from Jason to Lucia mid chase. Later, working security at a party with her guns taken away, she fights hand to hand and grabs a weapon from an attacker (Kotaku). TechRadar noted a quick time event where her line changes depending on which option you pick, and a base jump from a skyscraper over Vice City.
- The Launch Trailer (October 2026) shows her calling Jason from prison, according to TechRadar. TechRadar and GamesRadar both spotted her wearing an ankle monitor, and GamesRadar described her riding a helicopter with a grenade launcher.

Rockstar’s character gallery shows Lucia punching a heavy bag in a gym, walking handcuffed in an orange jumpsuit inside a jail, and hiding behind a door with a pistol while an armed man pushes through. GamesRadar identified the gun in that last shot as her Klose K17.
Jason and Lucia
Nelson told IGN, as GamesRadar reported, that the pair cannot break up: they stay partners in crime, but how you treat the relationship shapes how their story plays out. Speaking to TroisCouleurs, he said Rockstar wanted players to feel the kind of emotional connection fans had with Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.

What we don’t know yet
Rockstar has not named Lucia’s voice actor, said exactly what put her in prison, or explained how she got out beyond “sheer luck”. The full story arrives on November 19, 2026.
