You can start downloading GTA 6 on Tuesday, November 10, two days earlier than planned. Rockstar confirmed it on Newswire on November 3. PS5 preloads open at midnight in your own time zone. Xbox opens everywhere at once, at 12 a.m. GMT. The download needs up to 212 GB of space.
In June, Rockstar said digital preorders could preload from November 12. The game still unlocks on November 19. You get the files on your console nine days early, but you can’t play any sooner.

212 GB to download
Confirmed Rockstar says the preload file needs up to 212 GB, depending on your console. It asks players to “make sure you’ve got ample space to begin pre-loading as soon as possible.” This is the first official figure. Until now there was only a 210 GB PS5 size that Kotaku reported in October from PlayStation Store data.

Xbox players in the Americas start on November 9
Because Xbox opens at the same moment everywhere, 12 a.m. GMT on November 10 is still Monday evening in North and South America: 4 p.m. on the US west coast and 7 p.m. on the east coast. In Europe it is the early hours of Tuesday, and in Asia and Australia it is Tuesday morning or midday. The board above shows the exact time for you.
Boxed copies still come November 12
Physical copies contain a download code, not a disc. Rockstar says retailers should have them from November 12, so boxed buyers start their download two days after digital buyers. See physical copies arriving early for what that means if your retailer ships before then.
A free cover poster and Leonida map on launch day
On November 19, Rockstar will add a printable poster of the GTA 6 cover art and a map of Leonida to the official site as a free download. A double-sided printed version follows from the Rockstar Store soon after launch. It costs $0.99 on its own or comes free with any Rockstar Store order.
