Where to find it
IGN lists several ways to get behind the wheel:
- Trailer parks in Flint County. IGN’s vehicle guide lists them here, in Flint County.
- The 8-Track stadium event. IGN’s special vehicles guide says winning the 8-Track at the Los Santos Forum unlocks a Monster outside the stadium, next to the Hotring Racer. Its stadium guide adds that first place in this six lap race also pays $10,000.
- Exports and Imports. IGN’s best vehicles guide says you can also buy one from the Exports and Imports dealer.
- Michelle. Both IGN and GamesRadar say that reaching 50 percent with Michelle, the mechanic you meet at the San Fierro Driving School, gets you the keys to her monster truck. IGN places it in front of Michelle’s Auto Repair.
The mission Monster
The truck has its own mission. Monster is the first mystery mission you meet after reaching Tierra Robada, started from the ”?” marker at the mystery caller’s ranch. It is a timed race of 35 checkpoints that you must finish in 6:30 or less. IGN lists the payout by time, from $1,000 for 6:30 up to $5,000 for 4:20 or less, and says the time limit is generous.
How it handles
IGN points out that the Monster has four wheel steering, so you can take tight bends without leaning on the handbrake. Its best vehicles guide adds that it handles rough terrain well and can drive straight over other cars.
