GTA 6 rumours vs what is confirmed: the final check before launch

None of the big GTA 6 rumours has been confirmed with two weeks to go. As of November 3, GTA 6 is a single player game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, out on November 19, and Rockstar has not announced a PC version, an online mode, a review date, an unlock time or a download size. Three popular rumours clash with what Rockstar and Take-Two have said. One, a trailer before launch, already happened.

The verdicts

PC: not at launch, the rest is unconfirmed

Confirmed Rockstar’s store and every official listing name two platforms, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC copy on November 19 is not happening. Analysis Any site selling a “PC download” now is a scam.

On October 13, GamesBeat reported a PC release in the first quarter of 2027, citing four unnamed sources, and Kotaku, GameSpot and VGC carried the report. Not announced Rockstar has not commented. The full history is in is GTA 6 on PC? and the PC release date guide.

The review date

Not announced Rockstar has not announced when reviews can be published. A November 18 date is being shared widely online, credited to an industry insider, but none of the major outlets we rely on has reported it, and Rockstar has not responded to it. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both had reviews the day before release, GameSpot noted, which is why the date sounds plausible. It is still unconfirmed. File size: 210 GB reported, 212 GB confirmed

Kotaku reported on October 27 that GTA 6 is a 210 GB download on PS5. The number came from an account that reads PlayStation Store data, and Kotaku noted other reporting that backed it up. Confirmed On November 3 Rockstar said the preload file needs up to 212 GB, depending on your device, so the report was close. Analysis Clear more than 212 GB, since a day one patch would come on top. GTA 6 online at launch

Confirmed Rockstar called GTA 6 “a single player experience” when preorders opened, and the PlayStation Store lists it as one player. No online mode is part of the November 19 launch.

Bloomberg’s making-of feature says an online mode is expected in 2027, and Twitch’s chief executive told Bloomberg in September he expects its multiplayer next year. A PS5 Pro bundle or early access

Not announced Talk of a GTA 6 PS5 Pro bundle with early access has circulated for months, mostly on small sites. Sony has not announced any console bundle with GTA 6. Sony’s GTA 6 tie-in so far is a pair of limited edition DualSense controllers. Preloading only downloads the game, and Rockstar gives one release date for everyone, November 19. Another delay

Confirmed Take-Two’s August results tie its record forecast to “the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI”, Rockstar’s store lists November 19, and Rockstar has set digital preloading for November 10. Nothing official points to a third delay. Every past change was announced by Rockstar itself, as our release date timeline shows. A trailer before launch

Confirmed This one came true. Rockstar released the GTA 6 Launch Trailer without warning on October 15, its fourth official trailer, as Kotaku reported. Not announced No further trailer has been announced. See the launch trailer breakdown.

The unlock time

Not announced Rockstar has given the date, not the time. Some sites have read unlock times from store listings, but neither Rockstar nor PlayStation or Xbox has published a schedule. Our release time pages switch to the official time for your country once it is announced.
