Who he is

Brian is a drug runner from what Rockstar calls the golden age of smuggling in the Leonida Keys. He still moves product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori, and he has been in the business long enough to let other people do his dirty work. His official profile describes him as someone who looks like a beach bum but moves like a great white shark.

Connections

Brian lets Jason live rent free at one of his properties, as long as Jason helps with local shakedowns and stops by for Lori’s sangria once in a while. Jason’s friend Cal Hampton is another of Brian’s associates.

In the trailers

Trailer 2 (May 2025): TechRadar matched an early scene, where Brian turns up at Jason’s home and asks him to collect his checks, to the shakedown deal on Rockstar’s site.
An Extended Look (August 2026): Jason and Lucia visit Brian at a rooftop party. GamesRadar’s live coverage says he asks how they ended up in their current situation, which cuts to a brief flashback of a job gone wrong. He then hands them a job that has to be done that night and promises Jason a shot at more lucrative work. GamesRadar’s account suggests this job becomes the getaway for Raul Bautista.

Rockstar’s gallery shows Brian holding a package and pointing at a man in a plane, leaning on a railing in a sleeveless shirt and bandana, riding in a car while Jason drives, and handing Jason a handgun beside a pickup truck as a woman stands behind him.

Voice

Variety reported in September 2026 that Stephen Root voices Brian, after Root told the Associated Press he is in the game. Root did not name his character in that interview, and Rockstar has not published a cast list. Kotaku had already remarked that Brian sounded like Root in An Extended Look.
