Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are GTA 6’s two playable leads: an Army veteran working for drug runners in the Leonida Keys, and a fighter fresh out of prison who wants a better life. Rockstar presents them as a couple who have to rely on each other once an easy score goes wrong. Rockstar has not said how they met, and it has not named either voice actor.
Jason Duval
Rockstar’s tagline for Jason is that he wants an easy life, but things keep getting harder. His official profile says he grew up around grifters and crooks and joined the Army to leave a troubled adolescence behind. He then ended up in the Leonida Keys, working for local drug runners, and the profile suggests it might be time for him to try something new.
One of his lines on Rockstar’s site: “If anything happens, I’m right behind you.”
Full profile: Jason Duval.
Lucia Caminos
Rockstar says Lucia’s father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk. Her official profile says she wants the good life her mother has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, and that she is ready to take matters into her own hands to get it. Her line on Rockstar’s site: “The only thing that matters is who you know and what you got.”
Full profile: Lucia Caminos.
Lucia’s time in prison
According to Rockstar, fighting for her family landed Lucia in the Leonida Penitentiary, and sheer luck got her out. Her profile says she has learned her lesson and now plans to make only smart moves.
Prison runs through the trailers:
- Trailer 1 opens with her in a prison uniform. Asked why she is locked up, she answers “Bad luck, I guess.”
- Trailer 2 shows Jason picking her up as she walks out, as Kotaku reported.
- The Launch Trailer shows her calling Jason from prison and, in another scene, wearing an ankle monitor, according to TechRadar.
Rockstar has not said exactly what she did, how long she served, or whether the prison in the trailers is the Leonida Penitentiary, although her profile names no other prison.
How they met
Rockstar has not said. Its profiles describe each of them as a turning point for the other: meeting Lucia could be the best or worst thing ever to happen to Jason, and a life with Jason could be Lucia’s way out.
The trailers show them already close while Lucia is inside. In the Launch Trailer she calls him from prison (TechRadar), and in Trailer 2 he is the one waiting when she gets out (Kotaku). Trailer 1 ends with the two agreeing to trust each other. Anything earlier than that has not been shown.
Their relationship
Rockstar’s story summary says that when an easy score goes wrong, the pair are caught in a conspiracy across Leonida and have to rely on each other more than ever. Kotaku noted that Trailer 2 shows them kissing, dancing and holding hands, and ends with Lucia coming home and collapsing onto Jason on the couch.
Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson has added two points, as reported by GamesRadar. The couple cannot break up: they “will remain partners in crime” however you treat each other. But how much you nurture the relationship affects how their story plays out. In a Dazed interview covered by TechRadar, Rockstar compared the story to Bonnie and Clyde.

The people around them
Rockstar has confirmed these links on its Only in Leonida page:
- Brian Heder, a Keys drug runner, lets Jason live rent free at one of his properties as long as he helps with local shakedowns.
- Cal Hampton is Jason’s friend and another of Brian’s associates.
Outlets also connected two more characters to the couple through An Extended Look. Kotaku reported that the opening mission is a pickup for Boobie Ike, and GamesRadar linked a getaway mission to the bank robber Raul Bautista. Rockstar has not stated these links on its character pages. The full cast is on our characters page.
Voice actors
Rockstar has not confirmed who voices Jason or Lucia. Neither profile on Rockstar’s site credits an actor, and Rockstar has not published a cast list. Names shared online for the two leads come from fan guesswork, not from Rockstar or a major outlet, so we do not list them.
The one supporting role with a reported actor is Brian Heder. Variety reported in September 2026 that Stephen Root voices Brian, after Root told the Associated Press he is in the game. Rockstar has not confirmed it.
