Rockstar has shown robberies in GTA 6, but not how heists work. Confirmed Its bank robber character, Raul Bautista, recruits talent for big scores, and An Extended Look showed a getaway after a bank robbery. Not announced Planning boards, crew choices, approaches and payouts haven’t been shown.
Raul Bautista, the bank robber
Confirmed Rockstar’s profile of Raul calls him a seasoned bank robber who is always looking for talent willing to take big risks for big rewards. It also warns that his recklessness raises the stakes on every score. Two of his lines on Rockstar’s site: “A professional adapts,” and “Life is full of surprises, my friend.”
Rockstar hasn’t said how many jobs Raul leads or how his crew is put together.
The bank getaway in An Extended Look
Observed An Extended Look, captured in game on PS5, includes a getaway after a bank robbery with Raul as the client. Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson described it to Famitsu, as translated by GamesRadar:
- You start as Jason, shooting at police from the car while Lucia drives.
- The game then switches you to Lucia at the wheel, with Jason and Raul firing from the back seat.
- GamesRadar’s live coverage adds that the crew burn the car afterwards and switch to a van.
So big jobs can move you between the two leads mid mission. Our switching rules explainer has more on when you can and can’t switch.
Robberies in the trailers
- Observed Launch Trailer: TechRadar listed bank robberies among the moments it spotted.
- Observed Trailer 2: GamesRadar said the trailer moves between small robberies and bigger jobs, with gunfights and police chases.
- Observed An Extended Look: Kotaku and TechRadar reported store robberies among the activities shown in montages.
What Edge’s preview adds about getaways
Edge played a Rockstar North demo for its October 2026 cover story, which GamesRadar published in full. It didn’t show a planned heist, but it did show what happens after a job goes wrong:
- Observed After a botched robbery, Jason and Lucia fled on a stolen motorbike. Police radioed ahead and laid a stinger strip, the bike crashed, and a K9 unit caught Jason.
- Confirmed A new heat system tracks what police know about the crime: your description, whether you had a partner, your clothes, CCTV footage and your weapon. Change clothes, drop the gun or split up to shake each detail.
- Observed Expensive cars can carry trackers, some drivers are armed, and every car has fuel, so it pays to choose the getaway vehicle in advance.
- Confirmed Smaller jobs sit between story missions: Edge says Jason and Lucia sometimes have to raise cash before the next job, for example by holding up a gas station or a jewellery store.
Our Edge preview guide covers the whole system.
What is not announced
- Not announced Whether heists have a planning phase, crew picks or a choice of approach, as in GTA V.
- Not announced How many heists the story has, or whether any can be replayed.
- Not announced Payouts and what money from jobs can buy.
Analysis If you played GTA V, its heists were built around a planning board, a crew you picked and a choice between a quiet and a loud approach. Our GTA 5 heists guide covers them. Treat that as background only: Rockstar hasn’t said GTA 6 works the same way.
We will write heist walkthroughs from our own play after November 19. Until then, see the story so far and every character Rockstar has named.
